Cannabis Seeds
Cannabis seeds are small, dark brown or black, and oval shaped. They are usually no bigger than a dime. You may find them in bags of weed, or you may find them in a stash box.
Cannabis Seed Shapes
Cannabis seeds come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Some are small and round, others are large and oval-shaped. The color of the seed can also vary depending on the strain, with some being dark brown or black, and others being a lighter shade of brown.
The size, shape, and color of a cannabis seed can all be influenced by the strain it comes from. For example, indica seeds are typically smaller and more round than sativa seeds. However, there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to cannabis seeds, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different types to find the ones that best fit your needs!
Cannabis Seed Sizes
The size of a cannabis seed can vary depending on the strain, but in general, they are small and round. They are typically dark brown or black, but some may be lighter in color. The average seed is about the size of a pea, but they can range from as small as a grain of rice to as large as a grape.
Cannabis Seed Colors
Cannabis seeds come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. Depending on the strain, they can be black, brown, grey, green, or white. They can also be mottled, striped, or have a marble-like appearance.
The color of a cannabis seed does not necessarily indicate the phenotype (the physical characteristics) of the plant it will produce. However, certain colors may be associated with particular strains. For example, white seeds are often indica-dominant, while black seeds are often sativa-dominant.
The size of cannabis seeds also varies depending on the strain. Some strains produce large seeds, while others produce smaller ones. There is no correlation between seed size and phenotype.
Cannabis seeds are generally oval-shaped and have ridges running along their length. The surface of the seed can be smooth or have a texture like sandpaper. The texture does not affect the germination or growth of the plant.
How to Store Cannabis Seeds
Cannabis seeds come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. They can be round, oval, or triangular and can be brown, green, or grey. The size of the seeds can vary from microscopic to about the size of a nickel. When it comes to storing cannabis seeds, it is best to keep them in a cool, dark, and dry place.
Cannabis Seed Storage Containers
Cannabis seeds can be stored in a number of different ways, but the most important factor is always going to be keeping them in a cool, dark, and dry place. Many people choose to store their seeds in a fridge, which is perfectly fine. You can also store them in a root cellar or any other dark, cool, and dry place in your home.
The ideal temperature for storing cannabis seeds is between 7-10°C (45-50°F), and the ideal humidity is between 40-60%. If you can find a spot in your home that meets these conditions, that’s great. If not, don’t worry – as long as you keep your seeds away from light and heat, they will be fine.
When it comes to containers, there are lots of different options. The main thing you want to make sure of is that your container is airtight. Cannabis seeds need to be kept in an oxygen-free environment in order to stay viable for as long as possible.
Probably the simplest option for storing cannabis seeds is an airtight food storage container. You can find these pretty much anywhere – at the grocery store, department store, or online. Just make sure to get one that seals well. Mason jars are another popular option for seed storage. You can usually find these at any hardware store.
Cannabis Seed Storage Conditions
To ensure that your cannabis seeds remain viable for as long as possible, it is important to store them in the right conditions. Cannabis seeds will remain viable for up to two years if they are stored in a cool, dark place with a humidity level of less than 10%.
Once you have purchased your seeds, it is best to transfer them to an airtight container such as a glass jar with a lid. You can then store the jar in a cool, dark place such as a cupboard or drawer. If you are planning on storing your seeds for longer than six months, it is a good idea to check on them every few months to make sure that they have not started to deteriorate.
If you live in a hot climate, it is best to store your cannabis seeds in the fridge or freezer. This will help to keep them cool and prevent them from drying out. You should only take out the number of seeds that you need for each planting session, and return the rest to storage as soon as possible.
When it comes time to plant your cannabis seeds, make sure that you do so in sterile conditions. This will help to prevent the spread of disease and ensure that your plants are healthy and vigorous.
How to Germinate Cannabis Seeds
Before you start growing your own cannabis at home, you need to learn how to germinate cannabis seeds. Cannabis seeds come in all different shapes and sizes, but most of them are small and dark. You can find them at your local dispensary or online. Make sure to get feminized seeds so that you don’t end up with too many Male plants.
Cannabis Seed Germination Methods
To germinate cannabis seeds, you need two things: a medium for them to grow in and water. You also need a way to hold the moisture close to the seeds so they can absorb it, and some kind of heat to encourage growth. A lot of people like to use soil because it’s easy to find and easy to work with, but you can also use things like coco coir, vermiculite, or perlite.
Once you’ve decided on a medium, you need to water it. Some people like to use bottles or other containers with small holes in the bottom so they can control how much water the seeds get, but you can also just use a cup or bowl. The key is not to overdo it; you don’t want your seeds sitting in water all day. Just enough so that they can soak it up and get started germinating.
Once your seeds have been soaked, you need to find a way to keep them warm. Most people like to use some kind of heating pad designed for plants, but you can also just put them on top of a radiator or even in a sunny window. The important thing is to find a way to keep the temperature around 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit (21-27 degrees Celsius).
Once you have your seeds soaked and your warmth source set up, all you have to do is wait for them to sprout! It usually takes about 3-5 days for them to start poking through the soil (or other medium), but some strains take a bit longer. Be patient and soon enough you’ll have little baby cannabis plants!
Cannabis Seed Germination Conditions
To germinate cannabis seeds, you will need the following supplies:
-Cannabis seeds
-Distilled water
-Paper towel or coffee filter
-Seedling tray or planting pots
-Growing medium (soil, coco, rockwool)
Follow these steps for germinating cannabis seeds:
1. Soak your cannabis seeds in distilled water overnight. This will rehydrate the seeds and prepare them for germination.
2. If using a paper towel method, fold the paper towel until it is 4-5 layers thick. If using a coffee filter, place it in a bowl.
3. Place the soaked cannabis seeds on the paper towel or coffee filter. Make sure that the paper towel or coffee filter stays moist by misting it with distilled water as needed.
4. Place the paper towel or coffee filter with the cannabis seeds in a warm location out of direct sunlight (70-90 degrees F is ideal).
5. Check on your seeds daily to make sure that the paper towel or coffee filter stays moist. Mist with distilled water as needed.
6. Within 5-10 days, your cannabis seeds should sprout roots and/or a taproot (the main root that grows down from the seed). At this point, they are ready to be transplanted into your grow medium of choice (soil, coco, rockwool).
7. Gently transplant each seedling into its own planting container filled with your chosen growing medium. Be very careful not to damage the delicate roots when transplanting!
8. Once all of your seedlings are transplanted, water them well and place them in a warm location out of direct sunlight
